What this site is

tracker.mrmontessori.org is a demonstration of the Montessori Tracker, a record-keeping tool for Montessori classrooms. Every child, classroom and note in it is invented. It starts over every day, and real student records must never be entered into it.

Who can sign in

Only the staff accounts on the server's list, with their school Google account ("Sign in with Google"). There are no passwords on this site. Signing in does not create an account, and anyone not on the list is turned away.

What we receive from Google

Only your email address, confirmation that Google has verified it, and the school domain it belongs to. We ask for nothing else: no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar or any other Google data. We use the address only to check that you are on the list and to show who made a change.

What is recorded about staff

Your email address, role, the classrooms you can see, and when you last signed in.
An audit log of what you read or changed and when, and sign-ins with the network address they came from. A refused sign-in is recorded without the address of whoever tried.

Cookies

One session cookie and one anti-forgery cookie, needed to stay signed in; while you sign in, one short-lived cookie (10 minutes) that ties the sign-in to your browser. No tracking, analytics or advertising cookies.

Who else gets it

Google Cloud hosts the site in the United States (Iowa, us-central1); the data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Google's request logs record the address, time and page of each request, as any web host's do.
Nobody else. No analytics, advertising or tracking services, and no scripts, fonts or images from any other site. Nothing is sold or shared.

How long it is kept

The demonstration's contents, the audit log included, are deleted when it starts over each day. Sessions end after 12 hours. Google Cloud's request logs are kept for 30 days.
